We were privileged and honoured by Lady Elizabeth Anson for so graciously hosting the event to relaunch The Arthroplasty for Arthritis Charity. Originally established in 1994 to provide funds for research into hip replacement, the primary emphasis at that time was the hip joint. However, its relaunch in May 2013 sees its programme expanded to include other joint replacements and trauma.

The main objectives of the charity’s research into joint replacement are to:

  • Improve the quality of hip and other joint replacements.
  • Extend the longevity of these replacements.
  • Investigate causes of problems that may arise from current practice.
  • Educate those involved with joint replacement surgery.
  • Disseminate and present the future findings of the research.

Diana Pomeroy who is one of our Trustees orchestrated the redefinition of the Charity and our new stylish brochure with our vision and aspirations was launched at the event. We are grateful to Roger Proctor and his team at Proctor & Stevenson for the stylish design and branding of the charity and our special thanks go to Katie who worked closely with the charity team on design.

We were thrilled that many prestigious guests who embraced the unique brand message ‘joint replacement treatment for arthritis’ supported the event.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the Foundations, Trusts and individuals who are supporting the work of The Arthroplasty for Arthritis Charity.

Our thanks are also given to Steven Randolph and his staff for their excellent service, along with the superb photography kindly performed by Geoff Reardon.

The evening was a tremendous success and our objective was achieved. The future is taking shape!
